Shopping List:

1.5 kg Lean Ground Beef or Turkey (Drain after cooking)
1 Large Onion-chopped
2 Celery Stalks-chopped
5 White Mushrooms-sliced
1 Yellow or Green Zucchini-chopped
1/2 Green and Red Bell Pepper-chopped
1 Cup Shredded Carrots (optional)
1 Cup Fresh Parsley-chopped
1 Cup Fresh Oregano-chopped
1 Can of Stewed Tomatoes
1-2 Cans of Pasta Sauce (Hunt's Four Cheese is a family favourite)
1 Can of Red Kidney Beans (Rinse throughly)
1Table Spoon of Onion Powder
1Table Spoon of Chili Powder
1Table Spoon of dried Oregano
1Table Spoon of Parsley Flakes
1 Table Spoon of Basil Leaves
1Table Spoon of Hot Chili Peppers



Brown onions and mushrooms in a large skillet with butter before adding beef or poultry. Once cooked thoroughly place in a large pot. Add chopped vegetables, seasoning, beans and sauce. Simmer on low for 30-45 minutes.
